'.. If angst and ire are not required, exactly what was the point of this comment? ..' - in theory the comment is fact, which is more than the SNP claims about the North Sea
Don't forget that North Sea oil was a major platform/reason why Scotland was deemed to be able to go it alone by Salmond/Sturgeon; although many had stated at the time that it was not viable they were dismissed out of hand with obligatory tyring to rubbish their reputations -
Nevertheless with the benefit of hindsight what is the position of North Sea oil today? Scotland would probably have been bust after a mere 6 months of independence & it would have been the fault of the SNP
There has been little humility or apology by Salmond/Sturgeon et al for getting this fundamental costing wrong and it almost seems to have been brushed under the carpet - despite the fact that is could well have bankrupted the newlty independent Scotland
Darien re-visited - rUK has been there before with a bailout (ps. which still hasn't been repaid, compounded at 4% for 300 years - work out the amount now due)
... and now the SNP wants to make all manner of demands from rUK because they believe they hold the trump cards in the election

I don't do angst and ire on my blog, whenever I post on here I am wearing my Bruce Willis smile.
So, as they say, wind your neck in.
