Community Manager's Corner: Opportunities

If you have browsed through or posted in the Opportunities area of the site recently, you may have noticed that we’ve updated the way it works. While there was obviously a great deal of interest and useful information being shared via Opportunities postings, the range of services being offered had expanded beyond our originally predicted and intended scope.

For that reason, we’ve implemented a range of filters based on the various uses that we’ve observed since the service’s introduction. Visitors can now select the type of post they’re interested in and drill down by region to quickly access the content that’s most relevant to them. This also means that we’ve been able to expand the range of posting options available, opening up the previous restrictions on commonly available services.

We’d still like to ask that you respect the spirit of the service and, to ensure that it can continue as a free and open feature, you restrict postings to no more than once per week (especially with regards to bookkeeping-related requests) and take care to observe the Community Rules in all of your contributions.

If you have any feedback or comments you’d like to make about the changes, we’d love to hear them. We’ll also do our best to respond to any queries regarding Opportunities or any other area of the site as well.
