If in doubt keep asking the questions
May 31 - I don't mention them often. In fact I try to forget about them as much as I can, but the quarters up so In have to call a shareholder board meeting.
I know it's odd that I work in an SME (tending M, I guess) where the owners are separated from the management, but I can't be alone in doing so. And I wonder what the impact is?
I enjoy not having owners breathing down my neck. I'm happy to see cash go out to them (well, fairly so - I do sometimes wonder whether I wouldn't rather give better pay rises here).
But what are the minuses? Is not knowing what they really think affecting performance? Does having owners around sharpen things? Do I satisfice? If so, how?
I often ask myself these questions and never get answers from anyone - even the Chair.
What's the moral? If in doubt keep asking the questions, I guess.
