Following the OFT report of 2010 into Insolvency Fees, Prof. Kempson is now conducting a review, as announced by Jo Swinson..

Submissions should be sent to: [email protected]

While this is a review that is looking at the profession as a whole, regular readers will know by now that Mad Lemming has a personal interest in the insolvency practices of a particular accounting firm.

If you have evidence of similar behaviour by this firm, I would appreciate copies of submissions sent to Prof. Kempson.

Murder or Suicide ?

Peter Williams owed £1300 in council tax. He had mental health issues . He was also a wonderful inventor,

He paid the council .He was hunted by Grab Thornton for £70K in fees .His house was worth £250 K .The day before he was due to be evicted he stood in front of a train.

His last wish was that no other soul should suffer as he did.

So ,a firm of solicitors approach 50 councils and say they will handle their overdue council tax at no charge to the council .They cherry pick the homeowners with equity. They send the bill

say £2000 plus their fees £8000 . You cant pay. They make you bankrupt. They appoint their IP

Who becomes your trustee. They sell your house .Their fees are now £250 K or whatever you have as equity in your house .

Grab Thornton 2 years ago claimed we owed them and their solicitors in excess of £700 K

We were forced to declare bankruptcy. They became my wives trustee.

Our local MP Zac Goldsmith has been powerless .Vince Cables special advisor Steve Lamb has been great ,although he still has not been able to get them to show be the  bill.

Grab Thornton say they need to sell our house and our disabled daughters house before we can have the bill examined.

I am willing to go public on this . Please get in touch if you have similar experiences
