It goes on...
June 27 - Work goes on without me. It's a sobering thought, but an important one. Others have managed in my absence. I'm not saying they haven't had to work hard. Nor that some important things have not been done. but the world did go on.
And I had to get back - I wanted the discussions on reorganisation to get going. These increase the breadth of management whilst reducing layers. I think this will work.
The response from session one today was positive - if a little suspicious - people wondering who will get what, I think. In fairness we have to advertise posts. Equally we tried to pretty clear without being directive who we were looking for. The new number 1 jobs will bring few surprises. Their deputies may. And I want that. I want people coming through.
We're doing another presentation up north and then moving straight into appointing.
This has to happen.
But it will be demanding. But I want it in place before schools out - and that's only three weeks away.
