Only 10% of SMEs claim the necessary capital allowances as owner of a commercial property. Can this be true?

So called Deloitte analysis of the tax positions of UK SMEs who own commercial property suggest that only 10% of SMEs claim the necessary capital allowances as owner of a commercial property.

Aspiring tax rebate finder, CA Tax Solutions, reputedly collects over £20,000 for SME UK commercial property owners, and some economic models map the entire tax rebate opportunity of anything up to £60bn unclaimed in the UK's commercial property stock.

We would strongly recommend double checking with your tax accountant or chartered accountancy firm, or to source a good local tax accountant in London, or whereever your business or commercial property is situated. Specialist tax advice is worth its weight in gold if applied to the relevant tax category, and it appears that there might be a gap that SMEs are not currently tapping. If it proved to be true, then it would be an indictment on the UK accounting community and the services it provides to SMEs.

Accountant Now provides a free service to SMEs to help them find the right accountant for thie business budget and needs.
