I've actually started seeing one at home - near Ashford in Kent. Apparently they've just started to appear back in Kent over the last couple of years, mostly around the Medway Towns.
Couldn't believe it first time I saw it gliding on the thermals, then being harassed by a couple of pesky crows.
... the motorways (pleanty of road kill), I think they have spread out from Wales down the M40 and M4 - Ibstone is on top of the Chilterns, between High Wycombe and Oxford.
I believe there are number around Lewes, they may well have spread up to Medway.
as I type. Lots around here. They were reintroduced in the Chilterns at the beginning of the 90s and have been very successful. spreading through Oxfordshire and Berkshire in particular. Fortunately most people now realise they are primarily a carrion bird and have stopped poisoning them. Unfortunately some people feed them which is causing problems (and is illegal).
But wonderful to watch and they do get a hard time for crows!

I've only ever seen them on the TV. I'm jealous as hell :(
Did you see them feeding?
