Surprised how much I missed the internet

I have just returned from a week in very sunny south wales. Brilliant weather, beach, and very well behaved children <smug> - but I really missed the internet.

I have a wireless dongle for the laptop - but it couldn't get a signal.

Now, don't missunderstand me, I wasn't going to do any work - I just missed the mindless time I normally spend browsing. In a way it shocked me how much I 'need' a bit of net time each day.

Normal service now resumed - children watching Minecraft videos on Youtube - so they are also happy.

Happy Easter everyone,

I bet if you had to go cold turkey for longer you'd end up not missing it at all. It's scary how dependent we become on it; not for proper specific uses but as you found, the mindless browsing. Like I'm doing at half 8 on a Sunday morning.... I keep meaning to leave the pc off for a full day but it doesn't happen...

Happy Easter!

I should try that

I find reading a (paper) book rather than a screen a way to relax on holiday.

I'll make a resolution to try that next holiday..

I hope you advised your children to register under the Construction Industry Scheme if they are involved in "construction operations" on Minecraft!!

That always leads to a good discussion of how sensible the UK tax system is.
