Graham Goodbody was one of the unsung heroes of the world of tax and tragically, he passed away on Monday night.

In some ways, he was a throwback to an earlier era, showing qualities of commitment, integrity and wide technical expertise that were second to none.

He never sought glory but won over even the most awkward clients thanks to a calm, winning personality and an almost unique ability to solve their problems.

Graham was the kind of colleague that everybody would wish for, quiet, dedicated and loyal. He also had a great sense of humour and such broad experience of every kind of tax that he could spot and resolve the most difficult technical problems and also act as the perfect insurance policy against error.

All of those that worked with Graham at Chantrey Vellacott DFK and elsewhere will miss him desperately. He was a wonderful colleague and friend.
