As an Accountant and keen Twitcher & Bird Breeder (How boring am I) I love this time of year.
I was at my caravan in Northumberland at the weekend which was teaming with
spring activity. The Moorhens on the lake have 5 chicks, 4 Canada Geese dropped in for the day. 2 Swans turned and fought with the geese. The first swallows have arrived. Saw Bullfinches, Chaffinches and Goldfinches on my feeders within about 5 minutes.
Although a few weeks late spring is certainly a welcome site.
Lumix G5 with a 45-150mm zoom at max zoom, once I get the 100-300mm lens I should be able to get even better shots. Got my Christmas cards sorted so that should help me save up! I love digital, gave up with my old wet film SLR as it was such hassle getting it developed, and then getting the negatives edited was not easy, now you can crop and zoom and get the picture how you want fairly easily, I just use Office Picture Manager at present, although I may get a proper programme at some point, when I get a bit more serious (and have more time!) - this little chap was about 3 feet away, although he will come in and pick insects from between the prongs of the hand fork when I'm weeding!
