We can't be choosers

November 20 – (21 by the time I get round to posting this).

It’s back to weekend working. Beggars can’t be choosers and when people demand quotes at ridiculously short notice we try to do them these days. 

We used to take such demands as a sure sign that the work was not worth doing and that the customer was going to be a pain in the proverbial if we got it, and so ignored them. But right now that’s not an option we really have. 

Of course, whether we really win as a result is hard to tell.
