I have always marvelled at how FIFA and in particular Sepp Blatter seemed to dodge every bullet . I didn't really care much as , whilst I enjoy a world class game on the box I have never attended a match and don't contribute in any way shape or form to its finances.
When the World Cup was awarded to a country with no football history that has unimaginable searing temperatures, I knew it had to be a matter of time until something gave way.
The only unanswered question is how the accountants for FIFA could hold on to their position - surely they were obliged to blow the whistle (no pun intended) somewhere along the line ?
What would you have done and how early on ?
