April 20 - What do you do about whistle blowing? And whistle blowers?
April 18 – I had to have a ‘chat’ with one of our young employees last evening. He’s complaining that we’re not giving him enough direction. We’re complaining he’s not doing the job.
April 12 - I was interviewed by a sixth for 6th form student on student on work experience today. What, she asked, was the hardest part of my job?
I have to admit it only took a moment's hesitation to answer that guessing what other people were thinking was the hardest bit.
10 April - Took the weekend away with the family and intended to return this morning. However, before even setting off East rang to say there was a real opportunity for use no more than 50 miles from where we were staying. Could I get there?
4 April - Tax year ends mean remarkably little to me now - although once I faced their onset with dread.
March 29 - A day spent on what I once did best - accounting.
AM and I worked through pretty much all our year-end accounts to make sure that we were happy that things are fairly stated before we pass over the report to the shareholders and in turn to the auditors.
March 27 - I can't be the only person who gets as annoyed as heck by pre-pack liquidations.
I mentioned last week that one of our customers looked like it might go. Well, it has, of course. And then next day there it is back up and running again asking for credit under another name.
March 22 - The budget did not deliver for me. That's another hope dashed.
March 20 - I just had a call from our local paper asking what I wanted from the budget. Apparently I'm a 'local business opinion informer'. Which was news to me!
March 16 - I love expertise.
