Charles Verrier has worked with IT systems for the accounting profession since back when the Internet was all fields.
For many years, Charles was Product Manager for 'Singleview' - the Document Management system marketed by Solution 6/MYOB.
He now works freelance after many years working for assorted suppliers to the profession. Charles is not an accountant, but he does hang around with them a lot.
This blog focuses on all aspects of IT and its application to accountants in practice, with occasional forays into pure technology and geekery.
(old hands may recognise the blog name as a tag line used by MICL many years ago. It's not used any more, and I'm pretty sure I came up with it in the first place!)

UPDATE
As an additional point, one which hasn't been publicised by the reviews (including mine - mea culpa)..
The licence agreement for MSE has a clause in it...
Use. You may install and use any number of copies of the software on your devices in your household for use by people who reside there or for use in your home-based small business.
This is, I suspect, to ensure that MSE doesn't have an impact on Microsoft's own 'enterprise' security product - Forefront. The problem, being, of course, that Forefront tends to be used by larger organisations - leaving a big gap in the middle.
I'm not sure how Microsoft intend to enforce this (or even if they care very much in the wider scheme of things, and are doing this to cover themselves if some mega-corporation decides to install it on 20,000 computers, and then complains), but nevertheless, it may be something a small business might need to be wary of.
