Our AIM is true

Bristol, Taunton and Yeovil may be a long way from the Square Mile, but distance need be no object when it comes to knowing your way around the capital’s stock exchanges.

At Milsted Langdon, we’ve built up something of a reputation in the South West region – and rather further afield – for our work with companies listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), AIM (Alternative Investment Market) and the PLUS Stock Exchange (PLUS-SX).

It’s a specialism that brings us into contact with a diverse range of clients, from Dorset-based global telematics experts Trakm8 (AIM-listed) to PLUS-listed Bright Futures Group in Surrey, a holding company focusing on specialist contract catering.

Our specialist team brings together experienced operators in all the areas that listed – or would-be listed – companies look for: audit, IFRS audit and accounts, corporation tax and corporate finance.

Together, our work ranges from advising businesses considering a stock market flotation to preparing IFRS-compliant accounts for listed companies, as well as working with listed businesses on one-off and consultancy assignments.

We’ll advise businesses on which market they would be best suited and draw up the necessary documentation, including long form reports for companies seeking AIM listing, which may extend to modelling to map a company’s financial viability going forward.

Of course, where there’s a long form there’s a short version too so we also prepare short form reports as part of the admission document, which companies seeking admission to AIM must produce, and prospectus.

Along the way, we work closely with company directors and Nomads, or nominated advisors, who advise companies seeking flotation to AIM on their suitability for flotation, project manage the process and subsequently act as their effective regulator.

It all goes to show that clients of MGI member firms – or their advisers – don’t need to be on the doorstep of the City when it comes to making sure their AIM is true.
