I am getting used to fast days. What I am now doing is on fast days I am not eating anything during day time. This way I have just under 600 cals (after 3 cups of tea) to enjoy in the evening.
Small Practice Blog
This blog is intended to show the highs and lows I face day-to-day working as an ambitious and highly driven small practice owner.
My blogs will be both professional and personal. What happens in my personal life affects my professional life and vice versa.
Just covering one aspect and not the other means that I will not learn how to improve and change.
My key motivation for blogging is constant and never ending improvement. Writing helps me to do this.
I hope you find my blogs of some interest.
My week can be summed as a being a Xero week. There was Xero certification, other Xero webinars and the killer was and is WorkFlow Max. I want get this up and running ASAP since it will make a real difference to my practice.
My plan of getting my new practice management software up and running by Monday was just too ambitious.
I have been sitting through a few Xero webinars. On the whole they have been good.
Digital marketing, I am sure everyone knows, is just too important. The first port of call in purchasing decisions is now Google. Even after a referral people are checked out on Google.
As mentioned in my previous blog, it was a week where my food consumption was off the scale. So I am relieved that week 6 result is not a weight gain.
It has been another week where my to do list exceeded the time available. There are so many things I want to do in addition to client work.
Outside client work as mentioned in my previous blogs other aspects I really want sorted are:
Today I have been googling on fees accountants charge. The number of accountants that have a transparent pricing structure on their website has increased since last time I googled on this subject. This is about 4 months ago.
I am sure I am not the only one (or am I?) when a good client (profitable) says good bye it is such a downer. I feel like going out for a massive meal. It is my fast day! I won't. I am trying to change.
I think any business just to stay afloat needs to be on a continuous recruitment drive. Otherwise lost customers will not be replaced and the business will eventually be left with customers that just do not generate enough revenue to make it worthwhile.
