For nearly two decades, accountants have given a wide berth to the Apple Macintosh, favouring the more mainstream PC. Encouraged by some of his clients, Nigel Harris decided to buck the trend. This is the story of his new computing life.
Looking for Mac help online
As an Apple Mac newbie trying to make the transition from Windows I am always on the lookout for tips and help to get me up to speed on this new system.
My latest find is an excellent Mac blog simply called Mac Tips & Tricks at http://www.mactricksandtips.com/. It does what it says on the tin, and by subscribing to the RSS feed I'm receiving a bite-size Mac tip into my Inbox every day. I have learned a lot already, often just simple little tips - like how to do a forward delete on the MacBook (which has no delete key!) - which are in fact huge time savers.
So that's my current favourite. Anyone want to suggest any other good Mac sources online?
Mac Helpline
If it helps, I've comes across a great site at http://www.machelpline.net - they provide online Mac Support but also they can just answer questions about basic things, or show you how to do things on the Mac. It's not just a technical support line. I've used it a few times and they've been really excellent. It is a pay site but when you register you get one free credit to try it out and I have to say it's not expensive and they respond very quickly. Hopefully it may be of some use to you and others!
Regards,
David.

Some Mac Forums, and an RSS Newsreader
I use the RSS feed on Mac OS X Hints. I use the Vienna RSS/Atom Newsreader (Freeware), and I can quickly flit past stuff I'm not interested in (I don't have an iPhone for example, so I just skip those articles).
If you want to ask questions, there are:
MacFixIt forums
AppleInsider forums
Other forums which were recommended to me a couple of years ago, but have only looked at occasionally:
MacNN Forums
MacLife
Mac Rumors (I ignore the speculation bits)
