Ambition

Happy New Year, welcome back to work, though for many of us January has been a bit of a non-starter thus far as the snow has kept us off the roads.  Thank goodness for the internet, mobile phones and coffee!

Towards the end of 2009 we were talking about ambition in the discussion group 'Developing Your Assets' here on Accounting Web (join up, it's a great way of keeping abreast of what others are thinking about).  Ambition and new year's resolutions go hand-in-hand; so what resolutions did you make?  Did you resolve to grow and develop your ambition or to reign it in?

There's magic in thinking big - Dr David Schwartz wrote a book 'The Magic of Thinking Big' many years ago and the principles remain the same today.  Most of us have ambition; we want to achieve something bigger and better.  How big your ambition is will be conditioned by your own thinking.

Get ambitious, go for it, challenge yourself to achieve more that you have achieved in the past and stick to your resolutions.  Get in touch if you want to share them as it's much more difficult to give up on ambitions once you have shared them with somebody else - accountability and you will know all about that!
