Asserting your authority

Just recently I had the pleasure of spending the day coaching a group of Client Managers in an already successful practice.

The focus for the day was on assertiveness and communication. As you can imagine, the initial thoughts most delegates had was that they knew how to communicate and were assertive enough to deal with staff, client and Director matters appropriately.

Having worked through the session, to a person the feedback indicated that they knew a lot more at the end of the day than they did at the beginning. Some of the feedback indicated how some of the most basic of skills often need enhancing, just to make sure that you are continually improving through fine-tuning.

The Managers left feel better placed than ever before to assert their authority and to make the practice even more successful.

The result will be

A win for the managers themselves as they drive performance of the practice

A win for the Directors as they are further supported in developing the firm

A win for the firm as a whole as it will benefit from greater levels of efficiency and resulting profits

A win for the clients as they deal with a more efficient firm

All those wins from just spending time going back to some basics of effective communications and displaying assertive behaviors.
