Becoming proactiive

Well Blog, decided today to become proactive in my search for more work!! Went through the local telephone book and extracted a number of names and addresses of accountants locally. I'm sure you can guess what i am going to say now. Yes you got it!! Sent off a number of CVs and a good punchy covering letter, after all that was how i got the work from Robert's practice, so perhaps the formula will work again. Co Antrim is such a bleak place sometimes, both the landscape and the work prospects!! Am sure there are plently of women in the same position as myself, with young families and not necessarily wanting to be tied to the 8.30 - 5.30 day. It dosen't mean that we won't committ 200% to our work, we just need a bit more flexibility for our working days. I say it is high time the females in the accounting world stuck together and worked together to make it work for all of us.
Well blog i am going to get the childrens dinner organised and their bed times, then i will be back to my computer to finish my work between 8 and 11pm.
Will keep you updated if i get any joy from my mailshot!!

just like to discuss the fact about how hard it is to get some practice work for someone who has worked for years as a bookkeeper, went back to university to get accountancy qualifications and could really do with some advice on how to break the ceiling of getting to do some work for an accountant.
