Am I celebrating this 50th anniversary?

According to my post today, Royal Mail is, and I quote the text franked on the envelope before me, "celebrating 50 years of postcodes 1959-2009".

But am I minded to join the postal festivities?

I think not. I'd just like Royal Mail to deliver my post before midday and then remember to collect it every afternoon without the need for my receptionist to hang around the front door for most of the afternoon on the look out for the red flash that signifies that the post van has shot past without stopping!

Why do you not put your letters into the post box?

It's the franking machine!
David, I wish we could, but we use a franking machine. Either we drive in to town to the sorting office, or we wait for the postman to collect the bag of franked mail and scan the office bar code!
