Practical examples of how UK practitioners are serving their clients more proactively and, as a result, earning bigger profits.
The UKs best accountancy practices
I am currently writing a book for publication this summer called “The UK’s best accountancy practices”.
My research has already already identified over 50 firms for inclusion. But I wondered whether Accountingweb readers might want to nominate any I may have missed. You can even nominate yourselves if you think you are worthy! And if you do fancy nominating yourself, you can download full details of what I’m looking for from my (full) LinkedIn profile. Or if you email me on steve.pipe@avv.co.uk I will email the same details back to you. Thanks in advance STEVE

To qualify for the book
Essentially the book is about firms that have become more successful. To be included you need to have done at least one (non-technical) thing in 2009, 2010 or 2011 that has (a) generated a positive result for your practice, and (b) that other accountants can learn from in order to generate the same sort of positive results for their practices. For example, it may be that you have found a way to improve client service, the way your practice is structured, your work life balance, or how enjoyable work is. It may be that you have been able to improve team morale, productivity, efficiency or some other team related issue. It may be that you have increased your GRF, launched profitable new services, improved the quality of your client base, increased profits or improved cashflow. Or it may be something else completely. As long as other accountants are likely to be able to see positive benefits by doing something similar, then it can be the basis of your entry.
