A new addition to the team

AccountingWEB.co.uk's new practice development editor Mark Lloydbottom makes his debut in the A-Team blog.

As the newest addition to the AccountingWEB team, I’ll begin my first blog post with an introduction. For the record, I am yet another of those exes – I aspired to be an accounting firm owner and was for 16 years before founding Practice Track and, ten years later, PracticeWEB. Since divesting myself of my business interests I have worked with whoever thought I would add some value, and more recently became the UK founder of Crown Financial Ministries.

In my new role as practice development editor I’ll be sharing my insights and commentary on the profession and I hope that members will engage with me as we continue our journey through the year and through this ancient profession.

The observant members among you will see that I've already been busy on the site, contributing to AccountingWEB's 'state of the profession' theme with my own reflections on the last decade in the accountancy profession.

I've also been looking at the economic prospects for the coming year - I'm predicting a tough road ahead in 2010.

Good luck to those of you who have tax returns to complete this month and I look forward to hearing from all of you about what you plan to do differently in 2010.
