Online backup services for SMEs are becoming the IT trend of 2005 on AccountingWEB.
Hot on the heels of a free back-up service offered by Mamut, Backup My Stuff is the latest service to come to IT Zone's attention.
The BackupMyStuff.co.uk website is offering a free 15-day trial for up to 10Gb storage to tempt users into online storage. The montly fee starts at 6 for 500Mb of "critical data" (the files in your MyDocuments folder and Outlook emails), to 10 a month for home users wanting up to 2Gb of backup.
The business options start at 20 a month for 7Gb and go up to 30 for 30Gb. Backup My Stuff points out that it only saves data files, not programs.
To use the service, you download an executable file that then picks out the data to be backed up from your hard drive.
