Telecoms firms ordered to pay £100,000 wage arrears

Two telecommunications companies were ordered by HMRC to pay £100,000 wage arrears to almost 200 of their staff after they lost an employment tribunal.

Axis Telecom and Servizon Ltd were found to have underpaid workers employed as call-centre telesales operators.

The companies claimed the employees were apprentices, but the Hull tribunal ruled they were...

The fines were tiny despite big companies not paying minimum wage.  I bet they were laughing all the way to the bank
