ANC Express, the fast-growing UK and International parcels group, has invested in a financial systems solution from OpenAccounts Ltd. This continues ANC's significant IT expenditure program and will result in OpenAccounts providing an integrated financials solution with the existing operational systems to improve customer service, efficiency and visibility.
The express parcel delivery company has invested in OpenAccounts' core finance solution for its head office in Newcastle-under-Lyme. Employees in its network of 85 depots will be able to access the system to make enquiries via the internet. The eFinance and eBIS modules will be gradually introduced to provide a more sophisticated inter-site workflow use of the OpenAccounts system. OpenAccounts is also undertaking work to develop a bespoke system for automating the franchise ledger processing within the ANC depot network.
Having considered a number of vendors in a rigorous selection process, ANC chose OpenAccounts based on the breadth of functionality of the OpenAccounts system. The flexibility and added value provided by OpenAccounts included significant benefit potential from the eBIS Exchange module, which improves workflow. ANC also factored in that OpenAccounts is based on the Progress development and database platform as an advantage, having already gained considerable experience within this environment.
Henry Rusch, IT Director at ANC, explains
'We were impressed by the wide functionality and ease of use of the OpenAccounts system. Following the initial implementation, we're already looking forward to increasing our use of OpenAccounts' technology to introduce more cross-site working, and to automate administrative-heavy tasks such as business form processing.'
