Can recommend USSR/Baltic States and Finland as relatively safe Countries to visit.

Didnt experience any problems whatsoever with the exception of being short changed by cashiers at shops and banks (Forex) and over charging by taxi drivers..

A special thanks to the ladies on Moscow underground who despite language problems made outstanding efforts to help by indicating the correct routes to take and which of the 10 different tube lines to use.The Police were also very helpful.

Travelled on the Trans Siberian Railway which was well organised.

Everybody was friendly.

In conclusion travellers should not experience problems if they excercise a little bit of caution.

USSR customs were even more civil than the French border Police boot boys.
