CIS frustration

CIS remains a source of frustration to me. After an automated hang up by the helpline I finally got through to real, if somewhat unhelpful, person. Now the true frustration; as an agent I have registered several companies for CIS by phone but apparently I cannot do this for an individual client despite being registered as their agent and having handled all their tax affairs for several years. Nor is it possible to register an individual on line. Why do we continually have to deal with these apparent anomalies in HMRC's systems and procedures?

register the client as your client - online. Then when the authorisation code comes through, register you as agent for your client 0nline for CIS so you can submit returns. Good eh!!!!!!!!

Once we get self-serve all this will just be a mere hicup!!!!!!!!!!
