Code cracking
I'm in two minds about this one, on the one hand I want to see whether anyone can crack it, on the other I want to keep it for myself (assuming it is not already known to you all of course) in case any of you 'spoil it' for me :)
Anyway,
http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/
I got excited when I recognised the 'language' it is in (from my days altering the code in my Megadrive games with an Action Replay cartridge :) ) but even after I have translated it I am none the wiser.
So ummmm, if anyone can crack it, sing out, but don't spoil it! Once the thing closes maybe I will want to discuss it with someone smarter than me :) OR, maybe I'll crack and want some clues... But not yet!
Done
It translates into some rather ugly code that needs to be tweaked/reverse engineered into, say, C or Java, to enable you to get to the next step.
OK
I give in, what did it say?
I don't know!
You needed quite specialised knowledge to crack it. I think GCHQ would not benefit from employing me for code cracking duties ;)

ooh ... I recognise the 'language'
... from my earlier career. Will my brain still function? I doubt it! It wore out long ago, but I'll have a crack at it tonight (excuse the pun, please!)
