Cut and paste malfunctioning in Excel

Since a few days ago, My copy/paste function does not work so well in Excel. If I copy from VT into Excel, everything goes into one column; if I try to copy a row into several rows below (eg A1:C1 into A2:C10), it tells me the copy and past ranges are different sizes but lets me copy the values into one row (A2:C2).

I can sometimes get round the problem (eg for copying from VT) by copying into Word, converting to a table, and then copying into Excel, but obviously this doesn't help where I want to copy formulae.

The only thing I can remember installing recently is a VT upgrade. Could this be causing it?

Have you remembered to switch the VT view to 'Spreadsheet layout' before copying and pasting?

Could you copy and paste an example of where this is not working correctly into a Notepad file and email it to us at VT Software to support@vtsoftware.co.uk. We can then check to see at which stage the error is occurring.

Resolved.

Removed the VT add-in then added it back in again. Seems to have resolved the problem. Thanks for your suggestion/offer to help.

I've just had this problem

Disabling VT add-ins didn't do the trick for me, but the last thing to be updated on my PC was Skype.

I searched the web and discovered that Skype 'Click to call' was causing the problem and it only happens if you have a browser open at the same time as a spreadsheet. I uninstalled this Skype utility from my browsers and Excel works fine now.

That's funny Shirley because I did just update Skype, and I have started getting the following when I use left click to copy from the AWeb comment box:

"Your browser security settings don't permit the editor to automatically execute copying operations. Please use the keyboard for that (Ctrl/Cmd+C)."

but the Excel problem seems to be resolved, and I haven't got Click to Call. Still, all's well that ends well.

Probably not VT at all.

It came back, so I reinstalled Skype with no browser open and the problem seems to have gone. Apologies to VT for the libel and thanks to Shirley for the tip.

Another Skype problem

Just to add that I installed Skype Click to Call and subsequently found that Excel didn't automatically recalculate formulas whatsoever, after a bit of googling I eventually found the culprit and uninstalled Click to Call.
