Desktop and Screensaver themes

My Windows 7 laptop came with 'themes' and I picked the Characters theme.

My grandson is fascinated by the flying turtle with a palace on the top  - does anyone know where it comes from.

What are the most fanciful you have seen?

Couldn't find it ... but ...

Do you remember the TV advert where the 'white horses'  were created from, and galloped out of the surf with the human surfers? I can't remember what advert it was, but I thought the graphics were amazing.

We have our boring company logo on the office PC's, but on my home PC I have three white horses galloping out of the surf ... but not THE white horses. I am sure someone will understand my babble.

It was a Guinness ad

It won some awards the year it came out as well. I always enjoy their campaigns :-)

Nice desktop too! I'm horribly picky when it comes to backgrounds so mine is mostly white and textured with absolutely no icons. Looks more like a piece of (admittedly boring) modern art than a screen.

Landscapes

Sometimes I have my little ones on screen but most of the time I have glorious visions of the planet. At the moment I have a view which I think is looking out over Monument Valley (see the fave city thread) and I've a few others that have similar ideas (valleys, snowy landscapes etc). I like ones where the picture is so clear that you feel you're actually there....

I'm like Henry - got rid of all my icons as they were spoiling the view :)

I think ...

... the turtle was stolen from Terry Pratchett, it is very like The Great A'Tuin, the giant turtle that swims through space with the discworld, supported by 4 elephants, riding on its back. But I think he in turn garnered the idea from a religion from somewhere!

I change mine infrequently, This is my current theme:

EDIT: I now understand the world turtle and elephants to be from Hindu mythology.

Thanks Henry :)

I've saved a shortcut to the YouTube clip so I can find it easily and watch it whenever I want.

How did I miss that ad

by not watching much TV live I suppppose.

Thanks OGA - I did think of Discworld at first but there are definitely no elephants.

Shirley - I always had a soft spot for the White Horses - camargue ponies are in my favourite 5,000 piece jigsaw - http://truckshunters.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

scroll down to the camargue ponies for an idea

I went to the Fireworks

I went to the Fireworks Championships and stook my camera on long exposure and catched some great shots. I use Random Desktop and it changes every 5 mins. Keeps it interesting... Used to have movie posters but most of my favourites are NSFW...
