Hi - we & several clients use Freeagent (via "Iris Openbooks") the reason we went for this originally is that it tracks project time & costs for re-billing and was designed by/for IT people who were fed up with the old deskbound accounting forced on them by their accountants.

Two IT (ish) support companies I know use Freshbooks.  Another online solution which started out more as an invoicing system but now looks as though it is "all singing all dancing".

Both can be tried out for free.

Am sold on online systems so no deskbound ones come to mind.

As an IT business.....

I use Diamond Discovery software.

This is available in a variety of flavours but is essentially all the same software.

Job Costing is just one of the "modules", it can capture all labour and material costs and handles retentions too.
Invoices can be raised for stocked or non-stocked, descriptive or service items and applied as revenue to the Jobs.

Take a look at or give me a call on 07714 670789.

If you contact Diamond Discovery directly, please tell that I recommended you.

As a software provider we consider it important that we use our own software products to run our own business.  It demonstrates confidence in our products.

Receipt Bank to collect all expenses

My company - Receipt Bank - offers a service to help SMEs easily and quickly collect all their receipts and invoices.

We integrate with systems such as FreeAgent and FreshBooks (as Paul mentioned above) to ensure that this data is then available to re-bill.

Hope that helps,
