Any one upgraded yet? Any problems?
After SAGE 13 I am loathe to bung it straight on!
Been using it for a few months now as a beta tester, no problems so far albeit, as I'm a developer not a user, I don't work it too hard...
Same as John here, no problems with the beta test, but the beta did not include the ADM
I got my DVD last week but not installed yet because of the ADM.
Will wait until it comes up on the downloads list without the ADM, like V18 did, before I install
Since v18, if you have Client Manager, this software includes the ADM.
This is a seperate piece of software that in their words ' The Accountants' Dataset Manager (ADM) gives accountants a centralised view of their clients' data. The software installs Sage 50 Accounts Client Manager versions 2009 - 2013 from a single DVD. You can use ADM to view the software and data, and restore backups as required.
ADM removes the risk of accidentally upgrading older versions that are required for client data.
ADM gives full control of the receipt, restore and return of client data. When you receive data from a client and restore, ADM automatically:
My reason for not wanting to install the ADM is because, once installed the ADM will now hold your license and ALL clients in ALL versions from 2009 to 2013 will be added together
So in my case for v2009 and v2010 my client count was 100 companies, but from v2011 I downgraded to 25 companies. If I now install the ADM my total count over all versions will be 25.
I still use the old versions for annual bookeeping for smaller clients and I have no intention of loosing the client counts in those versions
Edit: Just checked and the download is now on the site, I will install and let you know if it includes the ADM or not
I have the CM dvd, does it automatically install ADM, or can you opt out with a custom install and just install v19 do you know? This sort ot thing irks me because for years we had unlimited clients, then they moved the goal posts and like you we have been down sizing year on year as the costs get more and more prohibitive! What really irks is that most of the uses are just to read clients data from a fully paid up licenced version, we are not actually working on SAGE per se.
If SAGE had any nouse they would give all accountants an unlimited company version for the cost of a single licence to encourage them to promote it to clients.
You would also have thought with 19 attempts they might have got it right by now :o)
Sorry Old Greying Accountant, I have only just seen your question. For some reason email notifications from AW about replies to posts are very hit and miss
I don't know if there is an option to opt out of the ADM if you install from the DVD. So I recommend you only install from the full software download from the Sage web site and insall in a seperate directory to your other versions. That's what I do so I keep my client counts in the older versions..
I did see someone post on here about installing V18 and the ADM causing a lot of problems for them and them now not being able to uninstall it, so I recommend you avoid it.
