Spring is here

I have a soft spot for baby animals, but some of them are just too cute for words and look more like soft toys than real animals.

Here are a couple where nature can beat Walt Disney for cuteness :)

Pomeranian puppy

Emperor Penguin chick

Baby Dormouse

Isn't nature amazing!

I'm sure if people spent more time interacting with animals than the usual things they do they would be better and happier people.

ShirleyM - if you like pomeranians, have you ever heard of Boo the dog, a famous member of the breed?

They look adorable, and I like them, but I wouldn't want to own one. Boo is very cute, but very professionally clipped!

I don't like to see animals being dressed up either, but that is my personal dislike as most dogs don't seem to mind it, and anyway, I think I was guilty of dressing up my animals when I was a kid.

I do have a liking for dogs with prick ears as they are more as nature intended, but not as extreme as fennec foxes. Now they do have big ears :)

For some reason

I like all the big cats and wolves. I don't know why but when I see them on telly I always feel sorry for them even when they are ripping apart some poor deer or why.

I thought picture 2 was a self-portrait Shirley?!

I'm also a fan of big cats, but to be honest any animal gets my vote. Okay possibly not scorpions, big hairy spiders or snakes but otherwise.

I am not that cute, Flash, and not at all shifty @CC :)

I am not squeamish about creepy crawlies either, and many of them are fascinating, even if they don't qualify as cute. The way termites build air conditioned homes is absolutely amazing and the way bees and other creatures work individually, but together, for the benefit of them all is also fascinating.

I could go on all day about the wonders of nature ... but I won't ;)

I love spiders ...

... great for keeping the flies down and amazing how they spin webs and dangle off things.

If I were to be a super-hero that would be my power of choice, although it would be hard to choose between that and invisibility!
