Impersonating Swiss Toni for nostalgia's sake is like making love to a beautiful woman.  You have to be careful and sensitive, making sure lots of attention is paid to details and then publish the results on the Internet for everyone to see.

Ah, Swiss Toni, how we miss his sophisticated contribution to AccountingWEB's professional discourse!

Who can forget the classic, Speaking to HMRC is like making love to a beautiful woman: "you have to push the right buttons, speak slowly, scream in frustration and finally hang up your handset."

I tracked down his user records and discovered that his last post was on Christmas eve 2009. Did he acquire some complicated gadgetry for his extra-curricular activities that went horribly wrong, or did the HMRC/practice assurance enforcers catch up with him?

He will be sadly missed, but feel free to trawl back through his archive to experience again the thoughts of one of our less politically correct members...

I seem to remember if not his literal last post then one of them and it makes me sad, so I will think of it no more :(

I think you'll find that most of those you mention have indeed been banned and therefore you can't utter their names.

EDIT: I should perhaps mention that not all were banned (as far as I know). Some were merely abandoned.

The film mention has reminded me of the music - just been to itunes to download a couple of songs :) AWeb is very good for musical inspiration - I've gained a few new songs via Old Greying's musical thread (cheers OGA!) and a few old ones that bring back memories from idle comments on threads. I do love my ipod!

Swiss Toni told me why he left back in Sept 09 - and he did appear as an alter ego but the old fogies who used to populate Aweb at the time gave him too much hastle.

Perhaps he has a new personality and is lurking amongst some of the members??

I might be stating the obvious but I don't know who has been banned so if we are not allowed to mention banned members then we should have a list of them.

Can we mention people who are/have been banned temporarily or is it just people who are banned permanently?

I'm not trying to be awkward - it just seems bizarre.
