A letter to HMRC:

 

Dear sirs,

 

I am unable to sleep because of worry over my unpaid tax. Please find enclosed a cheque for £100. If I am still unable to sleep I shall send you the rest of what I owe.

I'm not recommending this as a strategy for dealing with unpaid tax, but I read it on another forum and it made me laugh
