Multiple documents for a group of clients
Hi,
We have an issue of how to save scanned documents into an individuals file where they are part of a multi-paged pdf document concerning a number of different clients. There is no facility of saving just one page for that individual from the pdf document unless you print it out, re-scan that page and then save it which is time consuming and defeats the purpose of being paperless.
Does anyone have a solution?
Many thanks

Splitting pdf documents
Using Adobe Reader you can print to pdf, and select the pages that you want to print to pdf create the new document just with the pages relevant to the one client.Acrobat allows you to edit the document easier.
Adobe Acrobat allows you to edit, delete pages of a pdf document.
Also there are cheaper alternatives to Acrobat, eg Nuance, which allow you to do the same
There are a few ways....
Acrobat Professional is kind of pricey...and a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut by the sounds of it.
There are little tools which can manipulate PDF files (so you could extract individual pages and save them out as PDFs in their own right. This one costs about £12...

The other way is to get a 'PDF Printer' app installed and then 'print' a page range from Adobe Reader to the 'PDF Printer'. This will create new PDF that only contains the pages you need.
I use this one....which is free.

It's always handy to have a way of printing to PDF - I use to capture images of web-pages for reference, for example.
Multiple documents for a group of clients
Thank you all for the responses received so quickly. We will look into all of them.
We are just starting to go paperless (as far as you can in tax) and these ideas should help greatly.
Printing to create a
another pdf can reduce quality.
Split Documents, Merge them, Delete pages
In PaperLess integrated with your accounting solution, once you scan in a document you can use the PaperLess Workspace to merge documents, or split documents.
You can also append a page to an existing document or even delete irrelevant pages from a document.
When working with Accountants for their PaperLess office we tend to look at the most effective way of handling documents within the practice and using the large variety of functionality within PaperLess to handle electronic images in the quickest way.
This process tends to start with getting the documents into electronic format at the very earliest possible opportunity, and then managing them electronically in a multi-user, multi-company environment.

Use Extract Pages As Separate Files in Adobe Acrobat Professiona
Extract pages in a PDF
Extraction is the process of reusing selected pages of one PDF in a different PDF. Extracted pages contain not only the content but also all form fields, comments, and links associated with the original page content.
You can leave the extracted pages in the original document or remove them during the extraction process—comparable to the familiar processes of cutting-and-pasting or copying-and-pasting, but on the page level.
Note: Any bookmarks or article threading associated with pages are not extracted.
To remove the extracted pages from the original document, select Delete Pages After Extracting.
To create a single-page PDF for each extracted page, select Extract Pages As Separate Files.
To leave the original pages in the document and create a single PDF that includes all of the extracted pages, leave both check boxes deselected.
The extracted pages are placed in a new document named Pages From [original document name]-[n].
Note: The creator of a PDF document can set the security to prevent the extraction of pages. To view the security settings for a document, choose File > Properties, and select Security.
