We know what "they" want - but is anyone telling them what "we" want ?

HMRC have stated what "they" want, and are likely to try to impose it no matter what objections are made.

What is needed is a list of what we want, indeed what we demand.

Negotiation should be a two way street, what is happening at present is not negotiation, it is damage limitation.

A proper list of "demands" by agents of all sizes, agreed, as far as possible, by a large proportion of the agents should be prepared and put to HMRC. There should be "red lines" on things that are not negiotiable, such as named individuals responsible for cases and direct phone lines to them.

Not only should this list of "demands" be put to HMRC, it should be sent to every member of parliament, they all have accountants in their constituencies, and it should be sent to the newspapers together with a very clear statement of just how abysmal HMRC currently are.

The question is, how many would be prepared to put their name to it and stand up to HMRC ?

... the tax offices would be best situated where the tax is paid, not where it is spent!

Rebecca is already working on our Con/doc for HMRC's perusal.

But it has to be professional not a rant.
