Iris 10.5 - IXBRL Disaster?

The Iris website says that there is currently massive demand for iXBRL support. Having just upgraded to 10.5 we cannot create iXBRL files - as we seem to be unable to create new Tuple groups.

Is this a general bug with 10.5?

We can produce the reports but have found that things that worked perecclty well with 10.4 now do not.

I have now received a fix from IRIS which will hopefully sort it out.

I can create iXBRL files ok in 10.5.

But there seem a few new bugs introduced into this version, which weren't there in 10.4, which is a shame.

I think this is standard form for Iris these days whenever they release a new version there always seems to be one problem or another.

We always wait to install any of their upgrades and then upgrade straight to 10.5.1 etc when it is available which then usually saves us from dealing with the bugs!

Does anyone know whether it affects submissions generated under 10.4, yet to be submitted?

We have 3 sets of accounts and tax returns out for signing, all generated under 10.4.

It's a shame there is no IRIS representative to make comment or provide a comforting answer.

To be fair to them I don't think it's their job to put a rep or comment on here, or any of the other public forums in which their name may appear, when they provide support as well as known issues, knowledgebase & customer forum sections on their website.

Yes their support lines struggle but then at the moment they are already swamped by ixbrl queries, many of which are from customers who have not bothered to prepare properly and expect Iris to provide free training via the support lines, thus causing the rest of us to wait.

As others have said, a fresh update is never risk free, (and Iris are not alone here), there will always be bugs, it's the nature of the beast so many firms plan their workload around the expected release dates in order not to be caught out.
