IRIS Version 10.1
We have been having lots of problems since we upgrated to IRIS V10.1, from long company names being wiped from the system to problems with accounts online filing.
We are a relatively small firm and feel that whenever we report any problems to IRIS its always someone else's fault, be it the revenue, companies house etc...
If you use IRIS are you having the same problems? or does everything work perfectly?
I would be really grateful for any feedback.
Thanks.
Clare
Your wish is our command
Thanks for the question and feedback elsewhere, Clare.
I'll get on to the new group shortly and start to drum up a few other members. These things take a while to get off the ground, so while your immediate IRIS 10 gripes may not be addressed so quickly, long term I hope the community can be of some use.
I'll be back in touch shortly with details of the IRIS Practice discussion group.

IRIS Version 10.1
Iris have now said they are issuing an update which should iron out problems, which until last week, didnt exist. We plan to upgrade on Thursday and will review with interest the accompanying release notes to see if the update really does cover all our gripes.
I have joined the new discussion groupas it helps to know if we are the only practice "out there" suffering from software problems - we fear we are very much in the hands of IRIS and a small firm on its own cannot have much influence. Also, if it is revealed that it is our own systems that are at fault, then we can put these right and IRIS can remain blameless.
IRIS Accountancy Practice discussion group open for business
Thanks Clare... You'll know where to find it now, but anyone else interested in joining can do so here:

IRIS Version 10.1
- Problem: There is not a email address specified for MASTER. Enter a email address for MASTER in System maintenance.
- Iris answer: It has been reported that in some situations the following message appears when users launch the E-File Scanner where the option has been selected under 'Notification Method' to 'Email oringinal sender':
- IRIS Companies House E-File Scanner - There is not a email address specified for XX. - Enter a email address for XX in System maintenance. Note: Within System maintenance however the user stated in the message does have an Email address specified?
- Iris Resolution
Users are advised to make sure that all Staff have an Email address allocated. Within System Maintenance select:Staff | Staff Maintenance | View, allocate each with an Email address. The message (above) should no longer appear.
- No it didn’t but the following one did:-
- Problem: Companies House has completed processing transactions that you previously submitted to the Electronic Filing Service. It appears that you have not requested an acknowledgement on these transactions for more than 24 hours, envelope reference numbers are shown below. Please poll and acknowledge the outstanding submissions.
- Iris answer: “our IT team are aware of the email, which can be ignored. It seems that if polling is via submission level and not presenter level the system is setup to issue a reminder email. This is being looked at and apologies for any confusion caused.”
PLEASE NOTE: Submission level is when you go to Query Status e.g. you are checking the status of ONE submission and Presenter level is using the E-File Scanner e.g. check ALL submissions for that presenter
- Lets hope the update will resolved these ( and other) issues.
Cloud accounting and Document management too
Two new forums have just been added and are seeking new members. If you are interested in discussing either of these topics on a regular basis, pay a visit to the new disucssion group home pages for:

IRIS version 10.1
We too are having much the same difficulties plus trouble with Email connections in Company Secretary. It is beyond me why it requires a Email for "Master" to file online when "Master" is already set up as a normal user or why long names give such a problem. Moreover, Email help to resolve these issues are taking far longer than the target times stated by IRIS.
