I have been told recently that is unlawful to take a colour copy of a passport, is this true?
Technically I believe it is true that one is not permitted to take a colour photocopy of a passport - the point being that it might be used as fake ID.
Actually the UK Border Agency has confirmd that their procedures have changed and it is no longer an offence to make a colour photocopy.

Many thanks for that.
Only wrong if you give a copy to the Mossad.
How much do they pay ?
I am surprised they changed the law. They normally write law these days to give as wide a possible scope for prosecution, on the grounds that "Oh we wouldn't use it for silly things like that (unless we want to)".

And people say that I'm cynical.
Never mind, the anti-terror laws have worked wonderfully - for catching people putting their kids in the "wrong" school.
As for colour passport photos - no one would want a copy of mine. Looking at it I wouldnt like to meet myself up a dark alley.
Perhaps when Osama is dead, if he ever existed !
