Tax Magazines
I have recenetly started up in practice and like all starting up need to update my tax knowledge. Can anyone recommend any books or subscription magazines/journals for bringing me up to date and then keeping me up to date ? Are tax helplines worthwhile ?
Would appreciate any thoughts or opions.

Tax Helplines
These will help you to a certain extend - for compliance but not for tax planning and tips.
tax mags
hello,
I ahve also recently set up on my own and looked at CCH tax magazine but i didnt follow it up, i think it was about £150 pa subscription for which you get weekly magazines.
Mercia Trainig group also have asubscription where they send out newsletters on topics which will be relevant to accountants,
sadly i have not been able to follow this through either yet.
Tax Cafe
Have a look at Tax Cafe's books and they also do a tax letter than you can subscribe to.
They are very good and written as if you are sitting opposite someone who is explaining it to you rather than in a dry factual manner.
I have used them for a while now and find them brilliant and easy to read.
