Has anyone developed Management Accounts from VT with charts. I think this would be a useful Added Value to clients for us accountants.
I suppose it would be easy enough to achieve with a bit of clever coding. Can you give me an example of what you expect on such a chart? By management accounts i would imagine we somehow graphed figures year on year/ month on month? Cash at hand etc? Or am i wrong?

I would like a chart to show the monthly increase/decrease in sales/expenses etc and also when relevant GP Percentage.
Should not be a problem if you have VT Final Accounts.
Then just set up a set of management accounts in the usual way - this will give you an excel workbook and you can use excel to produce charts and graphs.
I'm being dim, but I can't see what you mean Paul. Is there a management accounts template hiding somewhere as well as all the stat accounts ones? If not, how do you use VT final accounts to get several months' sales figures over, as suggested by Richard?
no, you're not being dim. Just that I've "been there and done it"
Set up an new set of account and chaose the "customised accounts" template.
Then use "VT final accounts" and "insert account function" to put the balances into this template.
Then you'd need to load up the figures from VT for the first month - do some copy and paste using "copy values" to crystalise those figures. then load up the nxt month and so on.
Needs a bit of excel skill, and a bit of setting up time - but it's "do-able"
What a good idea - I will definitely have a go.
Another approach which can work for some reports is simply to copy and paste the basic reports - let's say for example the P&L into an Excel tab. Note the main reason this method can go adrift is when you get new rows - suppose you enter a new expense code to the P&L for ths first time - so it works better if you're confident you won't be doing this!
Now over in excel the tab you're going to create the graph from is going to link period by period to each month's copy and paste. In practice what I do is have a 12 column tab and just range-value-copy the data I want.
This all might sound a little complex. But once you've set up the excel file right, each month it is just a simple case of copy from VT, paste into Excel - 5 seconds - and your chart has just been updated with another set of actuals.

VT Ttransaction allows the user to run an AGED ledger- suppliers and custoemrs
any ledger in fact
the aging is 6 months
therefore run the reports
copy and paste into excel
and away you go
But how do you set Expenses up to be an Aged Report?
