Rebecca BenneyworthRebecca Benneyworth - Contributor
Rebecca is a lecturer, writer and consultant on a variety of taxes. She lectures extensively throughout the UK, and also has a small practice based in Gloucestershire. She qualified with Kidsons, and then worked in industry, before returning to Kidsons in a training role.

David CarterDavid Carter - Contributor
David is best-known to AccountingWeb readers as the author of our series of self-teach tutorials on how to use Excel pivot tables. These have been very successful and have been downloaded about 40,000 times. David has worked in the computer industry for 20 years, originally starting as a salesman with IBM. Before that he had various jobs in industry in Production Control, Finance and Distribution.

Louise DruceLouise Druce - Features Editors
An NCTJ-trained journalist, Louise began her career as a reporter for the Weston & Somerset Mercury newspaper in 1999 before joining Central Press Features to write consumer features for print media and the Fish4 websites. She then moved to The Netherlands to work for the European Journalism Centre, helping to launch a website and several publications in conjunction with the European Commission. On moving back to the UK in 2003, she became a features writer and then editor for GDS International, writing across the publisher’s broad portfolio of B2B titles. Louise joined Sift as a features writer in February 2007.

Louise DruceRob Lewis - Practice Editor
Rob began his working life as a trainee accountant for a city firm, which was soon followed by a brief spell as a wandering factotum that culminated in an English degree and an emergent career in journalism. Prior to arriving at Sift in March 2007 he was the features editor for a West Midlands publishing company, and a freelance contributor to the trade press, particularly on social care issues. He also writes crime novels and has made several appearances on BBC Radio.

Dan MartinDan Martin - Business Editor
Dan began his media career as a researcher for Sky News before moving into business journalism as a reporter on SME news and advice website BusinessEurope.com. Since then he has worked for a range of publications including Startups.co.uk, Mybusiness.co.uk and Growing Business magazine. He has also written articles for some of the UK’s leading business organisations such as the British Chambers of Commerce, the Forum of Private Business and Investors in People. Dan joined AccountingWEB as Business Editor in March 2006.

John NewthJohn Newth - Contributor
John Newth FCA FTII FIIT ATT spent over 20 years in professional practice before joining the publishing industry. He was Deputy Editor of Taxation magazine for 13 years, and since 2002 has been a freelance tax writer. John won the Tax Writer of the Year Award at the 2005 UK Tax Awards. John wrote the widely respected AccountingWEB Newthwire, a fortnightly analysis of the latest developments in tax, until his recent retirement.

Kate PhelonKate Phelon - Content Manager
Kate previously worked for i-D Magazine, a fashion publication based in central London. She joined the company as an Advertising Assistant in 2001 before becoming Production Manager three years later. During this time she worked on high profile advertising campaigns for clients including Diesel, Puma and Adidas as well as editions of the magazine featuring Kate Moss and Gwen Stefani. Kate joined AccountingWEB in December 2005 as Content Manager.

Nichola Ross MartinNichola Ross Martin - Tax Editor
Nichola qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 and ran her own tax, audit and accountancy practice in Kent from 1994 to 2001. She then worked as tax director overseeing company taxation for a year and a half before setting up her own tax consultancy.

Steve RothSteve Roth - Managing Editor
Steve joined AccountingWEB as Managing Editor in 2005. He was previously International Editor with a US-based magazine dealing with power, oil and gas trading. Steve trained as a journalist and spent five years as a newspaper and magazine reporter, before being appointed editor of the official magazine for the UK water industry. More recently he worked as an editor for the Daily Mail Group on their business magazines and has written freelance for clients as diverse as Coca Cola and the charity sector.

Rachael SparksRachel Sparks - Events Manager
Rachel joined the team in 2005 to head up the flourishing events division of the business. After graduating with a BA Hons in recreation and leisure management, Rachel worked agency side on various outdoor and indoor events and conferences for clients such as Honda and the South West Regional Development Agency.

John StokdykJohn Stokdyk - Technology Editor
AccountingWEB’s technology editor joined the team in 1999 from Accountancy Age. John has 20 years’ experience as a computer journalist on construction, engineering and design titles and extensive marketing experience with companies such as Silicon Graphics, Cadcentre and Roffey Park Management College. He is a regular speaker on technology subjects and has contributed articles to the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Evening Standard, Financial Director, New Statesman, MacUser, PC World and many other titles.

Simon SweetmanSimon Sweetman - Contributor
Simon is an independent tax consultant advising mainly small professional firms and those in trouble with HMRC. He is also tax spokesman for the Federation of Small Businesses. He learned his trade with the Inland Revenue but left in 1989.
