Editor's Note

Accounting in adversity is the theme for today. Our Auditing in Iraq series continues with Enter the professionals, a feature which looks at what happened when the Big Four decided to set up shop in Baghdad's green zone. Accountancy may not excite some people but it has always been one of the signs of civilised, functional society, and its continuing role in the reconstruction of Iraq is an interesting one.

Top 50 firm Wenham Major has also been facing a spot of bother recently. It rocketed up the Top 50 last year, but its Private Client wing is now mired in "financial irregularities", and its executive chairman is incommunicado. We report the facts here.

Lastly, Britain's business tax regime may be making things tough for all British businesses. So say Bourne Consulting, in their latest blog.
