Quick Books 2002 bank rec

Older version of Quick Books(eg 6) use to reort bank reconciliation in the traditional way. i.e. Bank Bal b/f add / less cleared cqs and bank payments, cleared deposits abd other credits = Bank Bal c/f, uncleared cqs & payments, uncleared deposits and other credits etc = Cash Book Balance.

However, I have noted in Quick Books 2002 this doesn't happen. It does report the cleared items. I have tried the report modify option, and selected unclered items and nothing happens, even though there are uncleared items within the selected date range.

I am not sure whether I am experiencing the problem because we upgraded a Version 6 company to QB2002. Any comments, suggestions? I have informed the Quick Books - however, it might take some time before they contact me. I was wondering if any of the Accounting Web readers had encountered this problem and managed to fix it.

You can contact me on Tuesday or later next week on 01275 854237 if you wish. Email address is c.bales@virgin.net . Did you fully verify the integrity of your data file in version 6 and sort out ALL issues arising before you upgraded your data file to the new version? Did you follow the upgrade instructions in the manual to the letter or take any shortcuts?

There were a number of significant changes between QuickBooks versions 6 and 2002 but version 8 has itself been superceded by QuickBooks 2003 and 2004 versions.
