Auditors, who often have to carry the can for corporate mishaps, were praised by a Financial Services Authority official this week for the improvements they have brought about in controlling and managing financial spreadsheets. John Stokdyk reports.
"Four years ago, auditors didn't want to know about spreadsheets. They tended to look at mainframe systems, password controls and so on," FSA application risk review specialist Dean Buckner told the EuSpRIG conference in Greenwich on Thursday 12 July.
"Now every audit report I read says something about end-user computing.
