Ex-Dragon demands boycott of former Den colleague

Rachel ElnaughEntrepreneur Rachel Elnaugh has called on women to boycott the businesses run by Theo Paphitis, her former fellow panellist on Dragons' Den, after he said females' brains "turn to mush" during pregnancy.

Elnaugh, who appeared in the first two series of the popular BBC TV business reality show, hit out at Paphitis following his comments in an article in the Telegraph.

The boss of brands including Ryman, La Senza and Contessa as well as Red Letter Days, run by Elnaugh before it went into administration in 2005, told the newspaper that people who think 50% of all jobs should go to women are "barking mad".

Referring to the highly-paid women who run many of his companies, he added: "They go and get themselves bloody pregnant and I say 'right: for three months before you even give birth, you're going to be useless, your brain will turn to mush."

Writing in her blog, Elnaugh criticised Paphitis saying he was "totally out of touch with what is actually going on in the world of business and enterprise".

Women make 70% of all purchasing decisions, she claimed, and many are boycotting "'Alpha' establishment brands" and doing business with firms which "trade collaboratively, with ethics and respect".

She called on females to turn their backs on Paphitis' companies in protest at the "outrageously outdated and sexist remarks".

The debate hots up!
Following publication of the above story Rachel Elnaugh removed the comments from her blog. However, the controversy isn't over as she has claimed female entrepreneurs have a more emotional attachment to their business than men. Many small business owners aren't happy!

Hmmm
I think the boot is on the other foot - at least womens' brains aren't influenced by a certain other part of their anatomy! It is a well accepted fact that men think with their ***cks

this is a no win one !

boys minds change substantially as they go thro puberty , also if anyone read the blog or sunday times seraiisation of wife in the north they will note that the wife freely acknowledged that her brain went to 'mush' during pregnancy, its all down to the individual DNA i suspect butthese things do happen
