Powered by Alchemex, the site provides a secure online reporting solution which is an adaptation of Alchemex’s current Excel-based reporting application, delivering automated financial and business management reports off a company’s own data and in a familiar Excel format, making business intelligence technology easy and accessible while saving accounting and bookkeeping staff valuable hours every month. This service fills the gap that most accounting applications cannot – the extraction of data from the accounting package into a formatted Excel template automatically and on demand – thus eliminating manual report preparation and repetitive data extracts. In addition to the free Management Pack service, www.mymonthlyreports.com also offers a Business Pack service which, in addition to P&L and Balance Sheet reports, provides Trend Analysis, Dashboards and graphing.
The Business Pack offers a bird’s eye view of the current status of a company beyond information presented in the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet although these do form part of the business pack as well. Users are able to browse the dashboard for a summarised profit and loss analysis for the current period and year-to-date, followed by a breakdown of top expenses, top customers and top products. All these summaries are built using native excel and can be distributed to, or shared with, any users who have Excel. The trend analysis graphs can be used to visually identify the problem areas and pick up trends from month to month in the current year, as well as prior year, for any account in the ledger. This enhanced service is available to Sage50 users for $25 per month, eliminating the need for small businesses to invest heavily in software upfront.
Gary Boddington, Alchemex managing director says, “We understand that some of the users of Sage Intelligent Reporting are likely to be disillusioned with the outlook for BI products and we are hoping to offer them the ability to try a solution that we know will give them immediate returns as well as some continuity.” The launch of the site was brought forward a couple of months due to the discontinuation of Sage Intelligent Reporting. Boddington explains: “It came as quite a surprise when Sage discontinued Intelligent Reporting and while the market was licking its wounds, we thought we might as well jump into the breach and provide something as an alternative. It forced our hand - but only by a month or two.”
