Meet the team

Want to know who's behind AccountingWEB.co.uk? Well here they are!

John Stokdyk

John Stokdyk, editor
In 25 years as a business/technology journalist, John has edited trade titles and written for The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph and Financial Director. He was Online/IT editor at Accountancy Age before joining AccountingWEB in 1999. John plays guitar and his favourite tune is 'Love Slave'.

Rebecca Benneyworth, tax editor
Rebecca trained in London with Kidsons and was chief accountant of a manufacturing company. She has her own small practice and lectures extensively for a range of professional bodies, accountancy firms, commercial organisations and HMRC. She's also an excellent murder mystery actress!

Gina Dyer, deputy editor
Gina was previously an editorial assistant at B2B publisher Palladian Publications, before becoming a staff writer for French Magazine and The Traveller in France. She joined Sift Media in January 2009. Gina has met the boyband Take That no fewer than four times.

Darren Falkingham, head of marketing
Darren has 13 years experience in b2b marketing and research, working with IBM, Swiss Re and Marlborough Stirling. He joined Sift Media in 2006 to lead marketing, brand development, e-commerce and strategic partnerships. Darren comes from musical stock - his dad was on Opportunity Knocks!

Nigel Harris, executive peripherals editor
Self-confessed music and gadget fan Nigel Harris is AccountingWEB's longest serving contributor. During the day, he's an associate at chartered accountants and business advice firm Burton Sweet. If you ever need to read the bible in French, Nigel's your man - he studied theology and French at university.

Bev Hunwicks, key account manager
Bev has been in media sales for seven years, working in print, online and radio before joining AccountingWEB in June 2008. Bev has put together too many campaigns to mention during this time! One of Bev’s favourite times was watching her brother play on the main stage at Glastonbury.

Rob Lamplugh, campaign producer
Rob has worked at Sift for over two years after graduating with a BA Hons in Journalism. Rob works  across the Sift Media portfolio delivering the advertising campaigns for the likes of HMRC and CCH amongst many more. Rob has recently taken up part time modelling (hence the picture!)

Mark Lee, consultant practice editor
Mark is chairman of the Tax Advice Network and a prolific blogger and lecturer. He spent 25 years as tax partner at Horwarth Clark Whitehill and was later lead tax partner of the professional practices team at BDO Stoy Hayward. Mark is a member of the magic circle.

Mark Lloydbottom, practice development editor
Mark is a practice management consultant with 30 years experience. He is founder of the Association of British Independent Accountancy Firms, Practice Track and PracticeWEB. Mark is an ardent Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter.

Ed Martin, marketing manager
Ed joined us in 2006, focusing on increasing membership and supporting our ad sales team. Taking care of trade shows and media partnerships allows Ed to escape the office occasionally. Ed is a keen racing cyclist, but reluctantly accepts he may never be good enough for the Tour de France!

Becky Midgley, community manager
Becky joined us in February 2008 as content management assistant after spending two years in London working as an editorial assistant on elearning resources. She trained as a journalist at the University of Lincoln. In her spare time can be found underground as an avid caver.

Andy North, head of business and finance division
Andy looks after the commercial activity on the site – in particular the advertising. He’s been working here since 2001 and has therefore seen a lot of people and ideas come and go! The paperless office, software as a service and the Carter reforms were little but vague ideas when he started.

Jenny Ogden, campaign manager
Jenny has been at Sift for more than seven years and currently manages the campaigns team, delivering the advertising across the Sift Media portfolio. Jenny has worked in the online industry for ten years, previously at Lloyds TSB. She has a separate wardrobe for all her fancy dress costumes!

Kate Phelon, content manager
Kate was previously an advertising assistant for i-D Magazine, before becoming production manager. Kate joined AccountingWEB.co.uk in December 2005 as content manager, working across the Sift Media portfolio. Kate once sat on the knee of Madness singer/fish finger peddler Suggs.
